Rayu refers to a chili oil often used in Japanese-style Chinese food. This artisanal rayu from Kuki, a century-old sesame product manufacturer, is crafted with their premium Pure Sesame Oil and chili peppers. The sesame oil used to make this rayu is processed with Kuki’s traditional methods without the use of chemical additives that accelerate extraction. In addition, they use only the first press, which is the most aromatic and flavorful. The freshly pressed premium sesame oil effectively extracts the aroma, umami, and spiciness from the chili peppers, allowing this rayu to exhibit an exquisite aroma, robust body and a crisp spiciness that lingers in your mouth.
